Framed Prints, Ready to Hang.
I am thrilled to announce my prints are now available to purchase.
Years ago I had a darkroom in a cold dusty attic, bits of felt and slate would fall into my developer dish whenever the wind blew. I would make prints, dry them, pick off the odd piece of slate and put them in a box. I didn’t do anything with them and I still have them, sitting in dust free boxes.
After numerous house moves and relocations, I had the space to build another darkroom. Since building this new, draft and dust free darkroom I have once again been making prints purely for myself. I also make prints of some of my portraits and send them to the subject as a thank you.
Making prints in the darkroom is the final act in the analogue photography process—shoot, develop, print, repeat and some of the feedback and support I have received have spurred me on.
I like to buy original art and photography prints whenever I can. I’ve plenty of empty wall space just crying out for artwork. I’ve indulged in a handful of prints direct from photographers but they come rolled in tissue paper or flat, sealed in a cello bag with backing card at best and then I have to get them framed.
Ready to Hang
I am excited to begin offering my own silver gelatin prints—framed and ready to hang.
My frames are rescued, reclaimed and recycled. Each frame is carefully inspected, repaired where needed and finished in satin black. The silver gelatin prints are then window mounted behind a high quality acid-free mat board and plain glass. The frame is supplied ready-to-hang with a hanger clip on the back.
There may be some slight imperfections on the frame or glass but not to the point that I wouldn’t hang this on my own wall. As my frames are recycled no two frames are the same, making each print unique.
These prints would make the perfect gift, with no framing required.
I will be adding more framed pieces to purchase over the coming weeks as I pair up prints to the right frame. I will also be introducing the option to purchase unframed mounted prints if you prefer to frame yourself. But to kick things off I have a couple of open-edition medium format contact prints. A couple of scenes I visit regularly.
Prices include free UK delivery and international delivery is at cost.
Please feel free to share, comment or shoot me some feedback, I would love to hear from you, Mark.
